We are the Ferk family
You may know us from the roads, from the caravan, and from life on the road. We thought for a long time about wanting to create something of our own. Something that would represent us. Something that wouldn't just be another soulless piece of merch.
We didn't want to sell anonymous items from the other side of the world. We wanted to create something that had hands, a story, and meaning. Something that would pass through our hands and have real value.
And so PAPAcou was born.
Why PAPAcou?
The name PAPAcou came about completely by chance. When our daughter Gabika was about two years old, that's what she called leather bags. We don't know why, but the word stuck in our heads.
Even back then, we dreamed of one day making our own leather goods. And we said to ourselves that when the time came, we already had a name.
Years later, that dream became a reality, and PAPAcou got its true meaning.
It's not just a brand
PAPAcou is a piece of our lives. It is a family project that came from the desire to create honest things from genuine leather while remaining true to ourselves.
As our children grew up, the time came when Gabika wanted to find herself again as a creative person. Not just as a mother, but also as a woman who has talent, an eye for detail, and a need to create something. To design. To sew. To design things that have both beauty and function.
PAPAcou is also her story.
Handmade leather notebooks
Every PAPAcou leather notebook passes through our hands. We personally select every piece of leather. They are often limited pieces from smaller workshops in Spain that might otherwise never find their use.
That is exactly where their charm lies. No mass production. No anonymous products. Every notebook is an original.
We make A5 and A6 leather notebooks with refillable inserts, recipe books, herbariums, travel journals, and personalized notebooks with engraving. Classic notebooks contain two lined and one blank insert; when used as a planner, you arrange your schedule yourself, without a pre-printed calendar. You can customize each piece yourself – choose the leather color, elastic bands, eyelets, decoration style, hot foil stamping, or laser engraving.
Why we do it
We wanted to create something that would keep us on the road. Something that would allow us to live freely, travel, be together as a family, and at the same time do work that fulfills us.
No dropshipping.
No warehouse full of anonymous goods.
No soulless, quick product.But honest handmade craftsmanship that has meaning.
What does a notebook mean to us?
For us, a notebook is not just an object.
It is a place where ideas are born. Where you write down dreams, plans, recipes, journeys, memories, or ordinary thoughts from everyday life.
